If you suffer from mucus congestion or sinus problems, then this mucus-clearing juice recipe is just what you need to breathe proper, and pain-free! Excessive mucus in the body suggests that the body is in a state of agitation – this mucus can result from exposure to toxins, pollutants, food additives and food allergens like dairy, wheat, eggs, and soy.
Consuming dairy and wheat are usually the main culprits of mucus congestion. Casein in all dairy products and gluten in wheat are not properly digested by the human body, leaving small partly-digested food particles that putrefy and become coated in a thick mucus to prevent further putrefaction in the intestines.
This mucus-clearing juice recipe contains ingredients like radishes to help dissolve and cleanse out mucus from the body, as well as ginger and jalapeño pepper, which work to break up mucoid plaques and dispose of them.
Mucus-Clearing Juice Recipe
Ingredients:
– 1 bunch parsley
– 1 large beet
– 1 cup radishes
– 3 large tomatoes
– 1 cucumber
– 3 celery stalks
– 1/4 jalapeño or cayenne pepper (or you can add 1/2 tsp. cayenne pepper to the juice after the fact)
– 2 inches ginger root
– 1 lemon, peeled
Method:
Run the above ingredients through a juicer and enjoy immediately! This is enough for 1 serving.

Would you reap the same benefits if you use a Magic Bullet blender instead of a juicer? (Just don't have the funds for a juicer yet)
Yes! You can also blend it, then strain with a nut mylk bag.
Why is it more beneficial to strain it after blending? Wouldn't there be some benefits to ingesting the fiber from the vegetables as well? I've had chronic congestion off and on for as long as I can remember so I'm hoping this helps. As luck would have it I had some fresh radishes at work with me so I just ate the entire bunch in hopes that it will help relieve the symptoms.
Thanks
Hello! You could leave the fibre behind, but juices and smoothies have a different effect on the body. When you juice without the fibre, you unlock certain nutrients your stomach otherwise wouldn't be able to digest (masticating juicers do this, not centrifugal). Also, having extra fibre in there slows the release of the juice nutrients into the body, whereas straight juice enters the bloodstream faster to help with whatever is going on in the body. Another thing – juices help give the digestive tract a rest, so that your body can focus on healing other parts of the body that need a little more TLC.
Don't have answer to your question. I did ,though, just buy a juicer from Goodwill for $5.00 It was half off and don't think it was ever used.
Going to the farmers market to get all the ingredients. I pray this is the answer. I have been surfering with this post nasal drip for 5 months and nothing working. The doctors don't know shit. The steroids works but the side effects is constipation. I will let you know if this is the answer to my illness.
Let me know how it works! Try to get organic when you can!
Hello and thank you for sharing this info. Is it ok to give this to babies between 9 and 12 months?
Definitely not the full amount, maybe 1/4 of the recipe – I would also not put any cayenne or jalapeno in there.
I made this this morning and it made over 32 oz. of juice. I have a hard time believing that's one serving. Could you reply with an estimate of a serving size, just so I can portion this out throughout the day.
Yes, you got that right! It should make about 1 litre of juice. That is 1 serving, if you're really wanting to cleanse and flush out the body. If it is too much to drink, cut the recipe in half.
Hello Carly, I was a dancer, a volleyball player, walker, and yoga fanatic for 30 years, overnight I was riddled with pain and not able to walk for months, I decided to eliminate meat from my diet and lived on beans salads and legumes, again the pain became unbearable but my muscles were feeling a little stronger. I then thought everything I'm eating is causing me problems so just drank water for 3 days, and I was able to walk and the pain was 50 percent better. I couldn't believe it, so went back to my vegetarian diet, and the pain came back and could barely walk. Which brought me to a lectin free diet, I'm walking close to normal, eating carefully and researching what lectins are affecting my body. Pain is down 80 percent. Rice has been a big culprit. Doctors thought it was MS and many other different diagnosis's. They truly are not smart or switched on enough to realise that our diet is 90 percent of our health. What I can't work out now is the damage that my body has had long term due to not treating my health has caused a very weak diaphragm. I don't know how to fix that, I've not had juices either, my body lately has lots of mucus as though I have a cold but it's not a cold and the mucus is lingering in my body, which is what brought me to your livelovefruit site. I'd like to work this out on my own since nearly 10 years passed and the doctors are still guessing 🙁 but what do you think?
I would probably focus on a raw plant-based detox for a full month. Only raw fruit, vegetables, and soaked nuts and seeds. Focus on drinking lots of green juices, and at least 4 litres of water per day (reverse osmosis or spring is best). Take turmeric pain pills to reduce any lingering inflammation (but the diet should help that). Stay away from beans & rice – they are acid-forming.
I have had an upper respiratory illness and the phlegm and coughing was quite uncomfortable. I searched for what to eat to help with mucus and your page came up. I went to the store, purchased all of the lovely ingredients and came home to prepare. I used my VitaMix. OMG it made so much and I know there is no way to consume the entire batch. It is thick and lovely! Delicious.
I wish I had discovered this when all of this began.
I will refrigerate the remaining and enjoy tomorrow!
Glad to hear you enjoyed it Marilyn! 🙂
