Green smoothies are an incredible way to clear your body of unwanted toxins while at the same time completely revitalizing you. Upping leafy green intake has been shown to prevent heart disease and other degenerative diseases.
Most people think green smoothies are going to taste just that – green. But there are ways to prevent this from happening (like adding in dates and other sweet fruit). This smoothie is one of my favourites, and you can barely taste the green!
Leafy green vegetables are great because they alkalinize the body, and provide it with cancer-fighting and immune-boosting vitamins and minerals. Plus, adding in plant fibre to smoothies helps cut cravings, as well as infuses the body with crucial phytonutrients that turn off the constant hunger signal (when the body receives the nutrients it needs, the brain stops sending signals to eat eat eat!).
The more green smoothies you consume, the cleaner your bowels will becomes, and the better your elimination. This also helps with releasing excess weight you may be holding on to, too! The fibre in green smoothies also help slow down the absorption of fruit sugars, providing you with a steady stream of energy that your body will thrive off of!
Delicious Green Smoothie Recipe
– 1/2 cup cucumber
– 2 cups fresh or frozen mango
– 3 pitted dates
– 1 cup packed spinach
– 1 cup packed kale
– 1 stalk celery
– 1 tbsp. plant-based protein powder of your choice*
– 1 cup filtered water, almond milk or coconut water

Stick all of the above ingredients in a blender, and blend until smooth (about 30 seconds).
