One of my favourite ways to “break the fast” in the morning is with a green smoothie bowl. It’s like a smoothie, but a little thicker, and eaten with a spoon instead of sipped. They’re incredibly delicious, and provide the body with a host of alkalizing minerals and vitamins to supercharge your health and your life.
This green smoothie bowl recipe only takes less than 5 minutes to make, and you can add your own combination of toppings depending on what you’re feeling like that day. You can make the base green smoothie recipe, and then top with things like mango, kiwi, coconut, berries, hemp seeds, mulberries, bee pollen – the list goes on!
Alkalizing Green Smoothie Bowl Recipe
– 3 ripe spotty bananas
– 1 frozen banana
– 2 cups packed spinach or kale
– 2 pitted medjool dates
– 1 cup mango
– 1 inch fresh ginger root
– 1/2 cup coconut water or filtered water
– chopped kiwi
– chopped banana
– un-sulphured coconut flakes
Blend the smoothie and pour into a bowl. Top with whatever toppings you choose, and enjoy!
