Hidden green smoothies are one of the best ways to get in your greens without even noticing them! I love hiding greens in things, and one of the easiest ways to do it is with smoothies.
Eating plenty of greens and fruit, especially during back-to-work and back-to-school season is crucial. They infuse your body with plenty of antioxidants, minerals, vitamins and phytonutrients, all of which super-charge your immune system and help fight off things like the flu and pesky colds.
This smoothie is also wonderful for children who are picky eaters and can’t stand the often bitter taste of greens. When they are hidden just right, they’ll never notice!
Hidden Greens Smoothie Recipe
– 1 cup chopped mango
– 1 cup berry of choice (I love using frozen blackberries, saskatoon berries or blueberries)
– 1 cup packed spinach
– 1 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
– 1 inch fresh ginger root
– sprig of mint
Put all of the above ingredients in a blender and pulse blend until smooth. Enjoy!
