If you eat a Standard American Diet or simply want a better body pH, then you should be drinking this lemon pineapple smoothie at least 3-4 times per week (preferably in the morning).
A large amount of the foods people consume nowadays keep their body in a chronic acidic state. Bacteria, viruses and other pathogens thrive in bodies that remain in an acidic state – this is why so many diseases and illnesses plague a good majority of the population. People who maintain a balanced diet of plenty of fresh fruit and veggies and keep their processed foods to a minimum (or even none) are usually the ones who are less disease-ridden.
Oddly enough, most acidic fruits like lemon, pineapple, cranberry, pomegranate, strawberry and tomato have an alkalizing effect on the body. These fruits contain a host of different minerals, which when metabolized, raise the pH of the human body to more alkaline. It is the minerals in the food that matter, not the food’s initial acidity.
Lemon is one of the best fruits for alkalizing the body. It is high in vitamin C, potassium, calcium, phosphorous and magnesium. Lemons help with fighting cancer, fix cardiovascular issues, heal digestive problems and help tone and clear out the lymphatic system. Pineapples, similarly, are also high in vitamin C, calcium, folic acid, magnesium and beta-carotene. They are great for fighting cancer (thanks to the digestive enzyme bromelain), help clear mucus from the body, push out stagnant waste matter from the colon and are a great anti-inflammatory fruit!
This lemon pineapple smoothie helps keep diseases and other pathogens at bay. When you keep the body in an alkaline state, you increase blood oxygenation, which easily gets rid of bacteria and viruses and helps heal the body of any disease state.
