smoothie with kiwi and banana with mint in a glass

If you’re a lover of smoothies and all things banana, then this is just the drink for you! This banana kiwi smoothie will help relieve your stress, and at the same time, help stimulate your bowels to eliminate constipation.

Consistent stress usually goes hand-in-hand with constipation. Why does this happen? When we are stressed, our body is in primal fight-or-flight mode, which means almost total shut down of the action of our digestive organs (to help preserve energy and direct to areas that need it most like our legs for “running away” and our heart to pump our blood).

Bananas are great for relieving both stress and constipation. They are loaded with B vitamins and tryptophans, which are natural mood enhancers, and contain plenty of fibre and pre-biotics to help flush the digestive tract. Kiwis also contain essential fatty acids, which help nourish the nerves in our brain, keeping us calm, centred and aware.

Kelp or dulse flakes not visibly dominant, implied as a fine powder blended in (no green or brown murkiness). Minimal garnish: banana slice on the rim or a few hemp seeds scattered naturally.
