Inflammation is the root cause of all disease, and also the reason you feel pain. This anti-inflammatory pineapple ginger smoothie is loaded with fruits and roots to help reduce the levels of inflammation in your body so that you can feel your absolute (pain-free) best!

Any chronic disease you can name has one trigger: inflammation. It has been linked to everything from heart attacks and strokes to Alzheimer’s disease, obesity, type II diabetes and cancer. These lifestyle-linked diseases are often a cause of poor diet, limited exercise, smoking, drinking and poor environment, all of which stem from chronic low-grade inflammation.

Irritating pain in the body stemming from the joints and muscles, allergies and asthma, high blood pressure, blood sugar problems, ulcers, irritable bowel syndrome, lethargy and chronic fatigue, skin problems and bloodshot eyes. The list goes on. Inflammation triggers all of them, and thankfully you can do something about it.

Switching to a whole plant-based diet will improve your digestive tract, the main area of the body where inflammatory response takes place. Keeping your digestive tract clean will help reduce pain and inflammation throughout the body, and leave you feeling like brand new (trust me, I have first hand experience with this after switching from a Standard American Diet (SAD) to a high-raw plant-based way of living).

Anti-Inflammatory Pineapple Ginger Smoothie Recipe

Ingredients:

– 2 cups ripe pineapple
– 1 lemon, peeled
– 1 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
– 3 inches ginger root
– 1 cup coconut water or filtered water

Method:

Stick all of the above ingredients into a blender and pulse-blend for 30 seconds until smooth (pulse-blending helps prevent oxidation). Enjoy!
