Mornings… it’s either you feel like crawling back under the covers or feeling stoked to start a brand new day. I prefer the latter. But really, you can always set your day right by simply having a cool morning regimen that not only helps perk up your mood but also add glow to your beautiful face.

Morning Skin Care Tips

So shut off the alarm, get up, and start with these seven morning skin essentials for a brighter day ahead!

1. Stretch your body

You know, what many of us don’t realize is how important good circulation is for our health and beauty. Yes I get it – sometimes you feel too groggy, too lazy, or too unenthused but just a few minutes of arm-stretching can make a huge difference in your circulation. What has blood flow got to do with your appearance?

Poor blood circulation has plenty of bad effects on your skin. Apart from varicose veins, you’ll potentially develop poor skin tone, skin discoloration, wrinkles and fine lines, as well as breakouts or acne. None of these things are pretty on your face!

Plus, exercising even by simply doing morning stretches can help boost your mood, flushes out toxins from your body, and lastly give you an attractive glow on your face.

2. Upgrade your water

No it’s not as hard as it sounds. It’s simply means adding a squeeze of lemon or lime into your water. Drinking fresh lemon water gives you a powerful dose of antioxidants and other minerals that are beneficial to your skin, hair, nails and overall health. Water alone hydrates your skin from within. And if you add lemon juice into it, you help shield your body from cell-damaging free radicals and other harmful external factors once you’re outside.

3. Wake up with a face mist

This step is as simple as spraying cool distilled water on your face in the morning. You can keep a spray can of distilled water in your refrigerator and save it for your daily beautifying spritz. You’ll love the invigorating and rejuvenating effect this very simple step can give you as you start your day. Again, you can try incorporating any essential oil into your morning spritz. Whether it be argan, coconut, chamomile, jojoba, you have a lot of options to choose from!

4. Swap coffee with tea

If you want to enjoy younger looking skin for longer, make it a habit to drink tea (preferably green tea). Wondering how many Japanese women have porcelain complexion? This is your answer. And if you want to have pore-free and creamy complexion, you may want to make a morning drink switch today. Or maybe at least a few times a week. Now don’t be too harsh on yourself if you’re really craving for your cup of joe. At least coffee has its fair share of anti-aging properties too.

5. Always moisturize

I can’t stress this enough. Hydration is essential when it comes to maintaining soft and supple skin. The best time to apply your body moisturizer is about two minutes after bathing when your skin is still damp. This helps lock in the natural moisture of your skin. Don’t clog it up with synthetic moisturizers, though. Use natural oils like jojoba or argan oil.

6. Naturally sun-protect your skin

UV rays can damage your skin cells, making your skin look old sooner than expected. Avoid commercial sunscreens though as they are loaded with cancer-causing toxins! Instead, wear a hat, put on your shades, or use natural oils such as coconut oil, olive oil, and almond oil, which contain lipids and nutrients that can protect your skin from the sun’s damaging UV rays.

7. Wear a smile

Sounds cliche but making smiling a daily habit can attract positivity. A smile is very contagious. If you wear it, most likely your neighbor is going to smile back. Then you’ll feel good and your day becomes great!

What’s more, according to science, smiling helps prevent wrinkles, creases, and anger lines around your forehead or mouth.

Natural beauty is often a result of inner wellbeing and healthy habits. And you always have a choice to make your day more meaningful and bright!
