Savoury Tomato JuiceStep aside, V8! This savoury tomato juice recipe contains all the vitamins, minerals and crucial phytonutrients your body needs to help reduce cancer risk and heart disease. In fact, V8 juices are so highly processed, and stripped of beneficial disease-fighting nutrients that it’s not even worth your money.

This juice is high in lycopene, a reddish-orange pigment found in fruit and vegetables like tomatoes, beets and watermelon. Its most widely known for its beneficial effects in helping heal those suffering from prostate and breast cancer. It has also been demonstrated in providing protection to blood vessels around the heart and neck, with tomatoes specifically being researched for their ability to protect against the development of cardiovascular disease.

Since lycopene is fat soluble, it is important to include a healthy plant-based fat source with the juice, which is why I included some hemp or coconut oil added in at the end of the juicing process.

Remember to always buy organic produce when you can to help reduce overall toxic load. The body has a hard time healing when it is being inundated with loads of pesticide residues to begin with. Shop local, and organic!

Savoury Tomato Juice Recipe

Ingredients: (1 serving)

– 2 cups tomatoes
– 1 beet
– 1 cup parsley
– 4 large carrots
– 4 stalks of celery
– 1 lemon, peeled
– 2 tsp. hemp oil or coconut oil

Method:

Run all of the above ingredients through a juicer (except the oil, which you add in to the juice after it has been juiced) and enjoy immediately!
