Natural oil treatments have been practiced throughout the world for thousands of years. In Egypt, the combination of castor oil and almond oil was used to promote hair growth by massaging it into the scalp. Sapuyulo oil, made from pressing the nut of the sapote fruit, was (and still is) traditionally used all across Central America as a hair revitalizer.
Now, we see beauty salons offering intensive moisturizing treatments for dead, lifeless hair. But what many people don’t know is that these treatments often involve the use of harsh chemicals that do more damage than good to our hair (and our body).
Fortunately, companies like Morrocco Method have devised a product that not only moisturizes the hair, but gives it back its life. What product, you say? Euro Oil.
Morrocco Method Euro Oil
I was given the opportunity to review the Euro Oil developed by Morrocco Method about a month ago. I wanted to give it a serious try, hence why I waited one month.
My hair gets extremely dry in the winter months, and the ends usually look dull and lifeless. No matter what kind of all-natural shampoo I use, my hair is sucked from every natural oil it produces in the winter time. I also only wash my hair once a week, so it’s not like I am stripping natural oils from my hair – it just gets really dry in winter.
Adding natural oils back into our hair is a great option for anyone dealing with dull, lifeless hair (or those who suffer from dry tips, like me). Natural oils, like Euro Oil, have a nurturing, stimulating effect on the hair follicles and scalp. They cultivate healthy growth and ouster of your hair.
As the oils absorb into the scalp and hair follicles, they replenish both active and dormant hair roots and follicles. This conditions your hair for “new” strand growth throughout the entire scalp. Euro Oil helps stimulate your hair follicles to produce more hair by balancing the sebaceous glands – the glands that produce oil on the scalp.
Euro Oil is an all-natural, holistic blend of eighteen different oils that benefit the hair and scalp. I’ll list them below so you don’t need to go searching:
– Sunflower seed oil
– Almond seed oil
– Apricot kernel oil
– Avocado oil
– Jojoba oil
– Walnut seed oil
– Hazel seed oil
– Safflower seed oil
– Sesame seed oil
– Macadamia seed oil
– Bhringaraj oil
– Brahmi oil
– Amla oil
– Neem seed oil
– Sage oil
– Lavender oil
– Rose oil
– St. John’s Wort flower infused olive oil
Every ingredient in Euro Oil is designed to maximize nourishment of the scalp and hair follicles. It is formulated to provide deep hydration to split ends and dry scalps, as well as stimulate sebaceous glands and restore the natural pH balance of the scalp to treat flakes and dandruff.
This oil is also multi-purpose, and can be used for various applications:
– Face and body moisturizer
– Makeup remover
– Great for rough heels and calluses
– Strengthens brittle nails
– Soothing massage oil
– Good for pets: Shiny coat, claw softener for clipping
– Great for shaving legs, face and underarms
My Experience with Euro Oil
I started using Euro Oil on my hair about 2-3 times a week, mostly on the dried tips. I found it most beneficial when I used it straight out of the shower on damp hair. I would put about a dime-sized bit of oil on my hands, rub it throughout my palms and fingers, and then run it through my hair, emphasizing the tips. It also helps to tame any fly-aways you have on the top of your head.
I noticed after using Euro Oil, that my hair was softer, shinier and my dried ends didn’t look so fried anymore. I don’t use a lot of heat on my hair, but my hair does tend to run on the brittle side (aside from it being rather thick). The Euro Oil helps lock in any split ends and prevents them from moving up the hair shaft. I also believe that this oil helps to protect the hair from any heat damage if you do decide to blow dry or straighten.
I also utilized the Euro Oil as a night treatment by applying the oil liberally to my scalp and massaging it all over. I essentially coated my entire head with the oil, then brushed it through with a Boar Bristle Brush (also sold by Morrocco method). I then bunched my hair together with a hair band and covered my pillow with a towel (to prevent any oil spillage on the pillow).
The next morning, I had a shower, washed my hair, and was pleased to notice how soft my hair was after the fact. The night treatment really helps the oil penetrate the scalp and hair shaft, which results in extra-silky, smooth hair, without any dryness. This was my favourite way to use the oil, but I still like using it on the tips of my hair when it looks more dry than average.
How to Use Euro Oil
Morrocco Method recommends a Euro Oil treatment once or twice a month, and then weekly or bi-weekly treatments during peak summer months.
There are five different ways you can utilized Euro Oil on your hair:
1. Daily Use: Massage a few drops to dry hair and skin for an instant moisturizing treatment.
2. Day Treatment: Apply Euro Oil to the scalp and massage with your fingers. Leave the oil in for 30 minutes and up to several hours, then wash it out.
3. Night Treatment: Follow the same steps for “day treatment,” except this time, cover your hair with a silk or satin night cap, or protect your pillow with a towel. The next day, wash out the oil for silky-smooth hair.
4. Warm Oil Treatment: If you want a warm oil treatment, do NOT directly heat the Euro Oil, as it will destroy all the beneficial properties within the oil. After applying the oil, sit in the sun for 5 minutes to naturally warm the oil in your hair. Alternatively, you can wrap your hair in a dry towel to keep the heat around your head. Wash out after your warm oil treatment.
5. Swimming Protection: Chlorine in pools can be incredibly damaging to the hair. Apply Euro Oil and wear a swim cap to prevent the hair from absorbing harsh pool chemicals.
Don’t forget that when you wash out your hair after the fact, do not use conventional shampoo and/or conditioner. These tend to dry out the hair, as they remove many of the natural oils our hair needs to thrive. Morrocco Method has an awesome line of natural, raw-vegan, 100% plant-based shampoos that nourish the hair instead of destroy it.
