Yes, a vegan diet can be both healthy and surprisingly delicious!

When you’re planning to switch to a vegan diet, it can be quite difficult to find snack options that are palatable, filling, and nutritious at the same time. This is especially true if you’re used to the convenience of the vending machine and have your very own favourite choices that you cannot seem to let go of.

Unsatisfied cravings don’t have to be the reason to give up a better lifestyle. Don’t fret because we’re making sure that you get to eat hearty and flavourful snack foods that are really advantageous for your vegan lifestyle.  You’ll surely love our choices below.

Homemade Granola

Nothing beats the natural sweetness and crunch of homemade granola. Instead of buying a couple of bars from the grocery, making your very own version of granola ensures that you pick the right ingredients that contain fibre and vitamins. These nutritious mix-ins include gluten-free oats, toasted nuts, dried cherries and apricots, and raw, unpasteurized honey.

Hummus with Pita Toast or Crackers

What’s one great snack that allows you to fulfill your protein needs without meat? Hummus with pita toast or crackers! If you’re wondering what hummus is, it’s a flavourful dip with chickpeas as the main ingredient. This one is great to pair up with pita toast or crackers. Hummus contains nutrients that amp up your energy such as iron, zinc, and phosphorous.

Banana Sushi Rolls

Being a vegan doesn’t mean you need to stick to plain whole foods. For example, instead of eating bananas for snacks, you can enjoy another variation that provides more fibre and protein. Try banana sushi rolls. Making this great healthful treat is simple: Peel a banana, spread almond butter onto it, coat with granola and almonds, and chop the banana into small circular slices!

Oven-Baked Crunchy Potato Chips

Ditch the store-bought high-sodium, high-calorie potato chips and opt for the homemade, oven-baked version. This healthier version of crispy potato chips is cooked with coconut oil, giving it an overall low fat content. Potatoes are a rich source of potassium and vitamin C which boosts your immune system and prevents high blood pressure.

Watermelon Smoothie

You’re definitely going to go crazy over the classic watermelon smoothie. Quench your thirst and satisfy your sweet tooth while reducing your risk for developing diseases with this drink. Since watermelon smoothie is rich in fibre and water, it’ll help support your weight loss efforts. To prepare this, simply blend together watermelon, honey, mint, ice cubes, and water!

Rainbow Fruit Skewers

Rainbow fruit skewers is a combination of vitamin-rich fruits that burst with sweet and sour flavours. For your vegan diet, this will be the perfect alternative to desserts with dairy content. To make rainbow fruit skewers, take a wooden skewer and thread the following fruit slices: raspberry, mango, kiwi, green and red grapes, mango, and blueberry.

Crispy Zucchini Fries

Are you looking for a low-carbohydrate and gluten-free delicious vegan snack? These zucchini fries boast of nutrients such as B vitamins, folate, and calcium for cell repair and protection against cancer. What’s great about this snack is that it doesn’t need any dipping sauce because the panko bread crumbs already adds so much flavour. Check the recipe here.

This list of assorted vegan snack ideas only means one thing: Anyone can get good nutrition and enjoy great taste whilst staying in a better health. You can eat these snacks at home, in your office, or during your road trips.

A brightly lit store shelf filled with colorful baby care bottles in pastel and vibrant shades of yellow, teal, blue, pink, and white. All bottles are unbranded with smooth, generic shapes and blank labels. The liquids inside are glossy and translucent, giving a polished retail look.
