Healing Herbal Green Juice

If you’re looking to regulate hormones and boost your endocrine system, this herbal green juice recipe is just the thing you need. The endocrine system works to regulate your metabolism, reproduction, sexual function, sleep and mood, tissue function and assists in the growth and development of muscles and tissues.

Green juices contain plenty of chlorophyll, and chlorophyll helps cleanse your cells of toxic waste like hormones and chemicals present in a majority of animal products. Greens are also rich in amino acids (the building blocks of protein), which assist in brain health, muscle building, and blood sugar regulation.

If you are interested in avoiding endocrine disruptors, be sure to steer clear of dairy products, pesticides, plastics, heavy metals and caffeinated products. Getting into a regular sleep pattern will also help balance the internal circadian rhythm, which will help improve functionality of the pineal gland (an important endocrine gland that regulates the production of melatonin, the “sleep chemical” that helps us fall asleep).

This juice is also good to help prevent bad breath, body odours, and improves the look of your skin. It is also excellent for blood purification (chlorophyll has a similar structure to hemoglobin in our blood).

Healing Herbal Green Juice Recipe

Ingredients:

– 1 bunch dill
– 3 cups kale
– 1 bunch parsley or cilantro (I prefer cilantro)
– 1 large cucumber
– 1 lemon, peeled
– 6 stalks of celery
– 2 inches fresh ginger root

Method:

Run all of the above ingredients through a masticating juicer like the Omega or Breville slow juicer. Enjoy!

    Hi Carly!
    I really want to try this juice but right now my thyroid is in hypothyroid mode and from my understanding kale is not good for hypothyroid issues. Would you have any additional info on the kale thing and thyroid and do you have an idea to use instead of the kale for this juice?

      You would have to eat 60000 pounds of kale for it to affect your thyroid. It is a huge myth that these foods suppress thyroid, and they in fact have so many more minerals and vitamins your thyroid needs than you could imagine. I wouldn't be worried about it.
