Nerve-Balancing Smoothie

Anxiety is something that plagues even the best of us. Thankfully, food can help. This nerve-balancing smoothie contains ingredients that help fight depression and lower anxiety levels.

A lot of the time, things like depression and anxiety stem from nutrient deficiencies like low magnesium, B vitamins, folate, iron, zinc, iodine and selenium. It can also come from not consuming enough high-quality amino acids, as well as not receiving enough daily sunlight to produce vitamin D.

Ashwagandha is one of the best herbal remedies for helping balance moods, reduce stress and lower anxiety. It also helps support both hypo and hyperthyroid imbalances and encourages healthy weight loss.

Not only that, but bananas are a miracle food for helping people deal with depression, anxiety and stress. They’re packed with nerve-nourishing nutrients like vitamin B6, potassium, and natural fruit sugars that feed the brain in times of stress. Bananas are also one of the few fruits that contain the amino acid tryptophan and vitamin B6, both of which help to produce serotonin in the brain (the “happy chemical”).

Nerve-Balancing Smoothie Recipe

Ingredients:

– 1 frozen banana
– 3 ripe bananas
– 3 pitted dates
– 1/2 cup ripe mango
– 1 inch fresh ginger root
– 1 tsp. ashwagandha powder
– 1 cup coconut water, almond milk or water

Method:

Blend the above ingredients until smooth and enjoy!
