If you suffer from painful, frequent urination you may have interstitial cystitis or a urinary tract infection (UTI). This festive cranberry smoothie can help ease these conditions, and even totally eliminate them!
Kidney function is reduced when there is a buildup of calcium, and this increases toxic buildup in your bladder, which can lead to UTIs and kidney stones (two incredibly painful illnesses). Cranberries help to reduce the amount of calcium in the urine, and they also prevent bacteria from sticking to the walls of the urinary tract via antioxidants known as pro-anthocyanidins.
Ginger acts as a great anti-microbial, while pineapple’s enzyme bromelian helps to alleviate any inflammatory-related pain inflicted by these infections. Parsley is another powerful herb utilized in this smoothie, which has been used for centuries to help eliminate kidney and bladder pain.
I have personally gotten rid of UTIs (ones that have even spread up into my kidneys) with cranberry and parsley many, many times. Each body is different, however, and experimenting with these amazing, healing ingredients will often result in positive results 😉
