Citrus Spiced Chocolate Smoothie

Nourish your body, mind, and soul with this citrus spiced chocolate smoothie. It tastes like dessert, but provides the body with a host of benefits like cancer prevention, reduced LDL cholesterol, improved immune system and better circulation.

You can enjoy this smoothie as a way to energize your mornings, or you can enjoy it for dessert as a substitute for less-healthy desserts on the market. It is packed with antioxidants, vitamins, minerals and crucial phytonutrients, and tastes like a thick, creamy, chocolate malt with a bit of edge. I guarantee you’ll love it!

You can either choose to add cacao, or carob – cacao is slightly stimulating, so if you don’t like that effect on your body, then I suggest to go with carob.

Citrus Spiced Chocolate Smoothie Recipe

Ingredients:

– 2 ripe frozen bananas
– 2 ripe bananas
– 1 tsp. maca powder
– 2 tbsp. carob or cacao powder
– 2 medjool dates, pitted
– 1 tsp. raw vanilla powder
– 2 tsp. orange zest (use organic non-waxed oranges for this)
– 1 tsp. cinnamon
– 1 cup coconut water or regular filtered water

Method:

Stick all of the above ingredients in a blender, and blend until smooth. Top with some cacao nibs and citrus zest if you please!
