Photorealistic wellness drink photography of a creamy pale beige bedtime drink in a clear glass on a light stone or marble surface. Smooth, gently blended texture with a warm neutral tone from banana and coconut water. Subtle visual cues of spices: a light cinnamon dusting on top, tiny vanilla bean specks visible, no overpowering yellow or orange color.

If you’re having trouble settling down for bed, then this calming bedtime drink is just the thing you need! It contains ingredients that are known natural sleeping remedies, all of which will help you relax and drift off to dreamland.

Bananas contain natural tryptophan compounds (an amino acid) that is an essential precursor to serotonin and melatonin production (two neurotransmitters in the brain). Since tryptophan is the only substance that can be converted into serotonin, and serotonin being the precursor to melatonin, we can see how clearly tryptophan plays an important role in balancing our sleep patterns and moods.

Vanilla is also incredibly soothing, and can help promote rest and a sense of calmness, whereas nutmeg acts as a natural sleep-aid, thanks to its chemical components that affect us similar to a very (very, very) light tranquilizer.

Calming Bedtime Drink Recipe

Ingredients:

– 1 ripe banana
– 1 cup young thai coconut water
– 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
– 1/2 tsp. freshly grated ginger root
– 1/2 tsp. freshly grated turmeric root
– 1/4 tsp. fresh vanilla bean
– pinch of nutmeg

Method:

Put all of the above ingredients in a blender, and blend until smooth and frothy. Enjoy!
