Juice Combinations To Lower Cholesterol

Many people suffer from high cholesterol, but it doesn’t need to be a life sentence. This juice combination is one of the best for helping lower cholesterol, promoting weight loss and to help you sleep better.

Eating more celery and grapefruit can help lower your blood pressure, and blood lipid levels. Celery contains 3-n-butyl phthalide (3nB), a compound that helps lower blood pressure. It is an effective diuretic that filters out toxins from the blood, and acts as a vasodilator to increase the elasticity of blood vessels to help lower blood pressure.

Celery also helps relax an excited nervous system (helping you sleep better), and lowers inflammation. It helps prevent diabetes, reduces the risk of stomach ulcers and combats obesity.

On the other hand, grapefruit contains a flavonoid called naringenin, which has the ability to treat diabetes, lower cholesterol and prevent metabolic disorders. It also helps boost metabolism and improves kidney function and blood sugar levels.

It should also be noted that reducing your consumption of animal products and the fat that comes with it is one of the best ways to lower your cholesterol. Dairy and meat are some of the worst offenders for raising your cholesterol.

Juice Combination To Lower Cholesterol: Recipe

Ingredients: (serves 1)

– 2 grapefruit, peeled
– 1/2 lemon, peeled
– 1 inch fresh ginger root
– 2 carrots
– 2 stalks of celery

Method:

Run all of the above ingredients through a juicer and enjoy immediately.

WARNING: Do not consume grapefruit juice if you are on any medication, as it can interfere with the metabolism of drugs. Consume at least 2 hours before or after taking medication. Grapefruit interferes with anti-histamines, blood pressure medications, certain cholesterol medications, immune suppressant drugs, methadone, viagra, and psychiatric drugs.
