Detox water is all the rage right now – especially when you can easily make them at home yourself. Why bother buying the cheap “vitamin waters” you see in store? They contain the unknown mystery ingredient labelled “natural flavor,” which could be a variety of things. Homemade detox waters taste better, anyway, and are much easier on the wallet!
Making your own detox water is quick and easy, and they are packed with beneficial vitamins and minerals that help cleanse out the liver and ease stress on the kidneys. These waters will also help alkalize the body, flush out toxins, improve skin quality and strengthen the immune system.
Infusing your water with fruit, cucumbers and herbs, is also a great way to encourage you to drink more water, which will in turn improve your health and help hydrate the cells of your body.
Always make sure your ingredients are organic and pesticide-free! Talk to your local farmers and ask them if they spray. The less toxins in your body, means the less work your liver and kidneys have to do to filter them out. When we consume too many toxins, our liver and kidneys become overwhelmed and this can manifest as skin issues, headaches, blood disorders and more.

Aside from the fact that the liver and kidneys are what do the “detoxing” in our bodies, how can you tell what chemicals are being added in the fruits shown? The organics industry often uses harsher “natural” chemicals than you see in conventional agriculture. And, as the attached article points out, the term “toxins” is so vague, how can you be assured of what will or won’t be altered in your body? https://www.sciencebasedmedicine.org/the-detox-scam-how-to-spot-it-and-how-to-avoid-it/
Hey Pat, thanks for your concern. By toxins, I mean anything that isn’t nature-made of course. Organic is better than conventional, if you know who you are buying from. Buying local and organic and getting to know your farmer personally is always best – growing things yourself is obviously the way to go but some people do not have that option. I am simply giving an option for people to help their bodies feel a little better. These waters will help the body 10x more than any synthetic vitamin water or any other bottled drink on the market.
How often do you drink the detox fruit water?
You can drink them all day if you want!
Wow these juice recipes look so delicous. Fruit juice is my favourite drink. But i often put some sugar in. I wonder if we only put the fruits into the water, how the smell of water would be?
It will smell wonderful! I do it all the time 🙂 No need for added sugar!
Do you drink these in place of a meal?
No, you add them in addition to your regular eating, which should be clean (aka. plant-based).
All Infused Water tastes better when left to soak overnight and is fully chilled.
Can you make these into smoothies instead of waters? I only drink filtered water (no coffee, tea or anything else) and make sure I drink enough water after passing a kidney stone.
Yes, they could be made into smoothies, but probably better as detox waters 🙂
