Summer is here, and so is the scorching heat. The weather tends to drain out our energy and has a dehydrating effect on our body. While we manage to make our surroundings cool, we miss out on what is most important for our body. If you want to tackle the heat, the best way to do that is by having foods that will bring your body temperature down.

These cooling foods stabilize your system and reduce body heat. They also give an instant energy boost. So, apart from that cold beverage, here are a few foods you can consume during summers.

1. Cool Like A Cucumber

With a cooling agent like cucumber, you can stay cool all through summer. It is highly hydrating and can be quite the treat during the hot days. It gives instant relief from the heat and also keeps constipation at bay. You can simply dice a few slices and add them to a salad.

2. Watermelon – Juicy as Ever

It is no surprise that watermelon is one of the most popular foods for summer. It is the perfect companion for a hot day as it is juicy, cool, and delicious. It helps to hydrate your body and keep infections away. No matter how hot it is outside, your body will remain cool with a watermelon by your side.

3. Go Coconuts All The Way

Coconuts are truly the summer saviours. They are inexpensive and filled with goodness. Coconut water has an incredible hydrating effect apart from other health benefits. It is widely sought-after during the summers due to its amazing cooling properties.

4. Fresh As A Lemon

Lemons are citrus fruits that help to detox your body. They also heal sunburns and other skin damage caused by the sun. They are known to boost immunity and help the body tackle the heat by hydrating it and flushing out toxins. The classic lemonade is the best way to go.

5. Minty And Chilled

A mojito with mint leaves is a popular beverage during the summers. The hero of the drink is mint due to its refreshing and delicious flavour. It gives you an instant boost and gradually brings down the heat in your body. The minty essence keeps you refreshed for the rest of the day.

6. Melons And Apples

Fruits, in general, are known to have antioxidants that protect you from various diseases. Melons are filled with water and keep your body hydrated. Muskmelon and pineapple also reduce body heat. Some other fruits known for their cooling properties are apples, berries, and bananas. Make a fruit punch and enjoy the goodness of all the fruits.

7. Leafy Green Veggies

Apart from providing numerous health benefits, vegetables are also important to bring down the heat in your body. Even though they are good to have throughout the year, the best time is during the summers. They have high water content and provide the maximum benefits when consumed raw or boiled.

Summers can be pleasant when you have a balanced and monitored diet. By taking proper care, you can maintain your energy levels. Staying hydrated is the most important factor during summers as your body loses water due to the blazing sun rays. With these foods, you can maintain your normal body temperature even on a hot day.
