Fruits To Improve Memory

When you first fall in love with eating healthily, it’s probably for one of the few reasons below:

  • To lose weight and look good
  • To improve your health and reduce the risk of any diseases or problems occurring in the future

However, the topic of mental health is very unlikely to be at the top of that list. Many people completely forget about the effects that our diet has on our brain and our mental health/strength.

How Can Fruit Improve Your Mental Health?

The vitamins, minerals and antioxidants heavily contained within various fruits plays a big part in the correct functioning of various receptors in your brain. They also play a part in protecting the cells within your brain too, reducing the chances of any diseases or illnesses.

Adding the right foods to your diet can improve your memory, fight depression, give you a clearer mind, and much more.

5 Fruits That Can Improve Mental Health

In this article, I want to quickly outline several common fruits that can dramatically improve your mental health. Take a look below:

1. Blueberries

Blueberries are rich in flavonoids, which have been proven to interact with the nerve cells in the body and stimulate the regeneration of brain cells.

Essentially this can improve your memory and reduce the risks of diseases such as Alzheimer’s.

2. Tomatoes

Tomatoes are the easiest way to increase your intake of carotenoids. These are a particular class of nutrients that protects fat in your body.

Therefore tomatoes are a great way to improve brain function and protect the cells in your brain, since your brain’s made up of mostly fat.

3. Bananas

Bananas contain Tyrosine, an amino acid which can contribute to improving your focus and motivation. Tomatoes also contains a small amount of this amino acid, and when combined together they can be a good combination for improving your brain power.

On top of this, bananas have a low quantity of Vitamin B6 which can be related to improving stress levels.

4. Strawberries

There are several different vitamin deficiencies that can cause a lack of memory. Strawberries contain one of the key vitamins, Vitamin B5, which can help boost your memory.

Strawberries also contain good amounts of magnesium, which has been linked to helping reduce anxiety.

5. Grapefruit

Grapefruit is rich with Vitamin C, which can be very beneficial for fighting depression. This fruit combined with similar citrus fruits such as orange and lemon can be great for combating depression.

These 5 fruits can be very beneficial to mental health, especially if you’re experiencing any of the below issues:

  • Depression
  • Lack of Focus
  • Lack of Concentration
  • Stress
  • Lack of memory
  • Anxiety

Do you have any fruit you can think of to add to this article? Leave a comment below.
