Unfortunately, most carotenoids are not absorbed fully by the body unless in the presence of some form of fat. Drinking this juice with an addition of 2 tsp. cold-pressed hemp oil will do the trick, or, leave out the hemp oil and drink the juice following a meal containing a plant-based source of fat like avocado or coconut.
Carrot Juice Recipe
– 5-6 large carrots (I like using different coloured carrots when available in summer for more antioxidants)
– 2 apples
– 1 orange, peeled
– 2 inches fresh turmeric root
– 2 inches fresh ginger root
– 3 stalks celery
– 1 lemon, peeled
– 2 tsp. cold-pressed hemp oil (added in at the end)
Run all of the ingredients through a juicer, and add in hemp oil at the end. Enjoy immediately for maximum freshness!
