For All Smokers And Ex-Smokers: This Drink Will Cleanse Your Toxic Lungs!

966

If you’ve ever smoked, still smoke, or find yourself exposed to lots of second-hang smoke, this drink will effectively cleanse and rejuvenate your toxic lungs.

Our lungs are essential to life, so taking care of them is crucial. Although our lungs are equipped with their own self-cleaning system, called cilia, this system can get clogged when constantly bombarded by irritants such as smoke.

The ingredients in this drink are targeted for total body health, as well as healing of the lungs. They include the following:

Watercress: this powerful little herb is beneficial to the whole body. It helps the eyes, liver, and reduces stress and anxiety. Watercress, when consumed, releases a compound called phenethyl isothiocyanate (PEITC), a chemo-preventative agent against lung cancer induced by a tobacco-specific lung carcinogen called NNK. It also helps soothe swollen breathing passages and lubricates the lungs from any previous damage.

Ginger: ginger is a great natural aid to help ease the nausea that is often associated with nicotine withdrawal. The components of ginger help relax the intestinal tract, and modify the way the brain communicates with the stomach, preventing feelings of nausea. It is also a great anti-inflammatory to help reduce inflammation in the lining of smoker and non-smokers’ toxic lungs.

Turmeric: chronic inflammation caused by smoking can be combatted by one of the best anti-inflammatory herbs on the market – turmeric! Curcumin, the active component of turmeric, has been found to suppress the progression of lung cancer in mic by inhibiting intrinsic and extrinsic inflammation, and by direct anti-tumoral effects.

Onion: onions contain powerful anti-oxidants that work as anti-inflammatories and anti-virals. The allicin content in onions is just as powerful as garlic, and has been found to fight oral, esophageal, colon, rectal, laryngeal, breast, ovary, renal, and prostate cancer. Allicin helps slow cancer by suppressing the formation of nitrosamine compounds, which are highly carcinogenic.

Honey: honey is great for relieving and easing heavy coughing, which is often a symptom of smoking, as well as when you are trying to quit smoking.

As for the recipe, drinking 1-2 servings a day would be most beneficial if you smoke regularly, or are trying to quit smoking.

Ingredients: (serves 1)

– 1 bunch watercress
– 3 inches fresh ginger root
– 3 inches fresh turmeric root
– 5 stalks celery
– 1 lemon, peeled
– 1/4 cup onion
– 1 tbsp. raw liquid honey

Method:

Juice all of the above ingredients except the honey. Stir in honey at the end. Enjoy!
